This is me. A food lover. A photographer. An artist that crafts images that make my viewers crave!
Early on, when my grandfather gave me his Nikon film camera, my interest for visual arts was piqued and it took me down an unknown path that would eventually be my career. Truly beginning in 1991 as freshmen enrolled in photography classes, to a sophomore part of the yearbook and newspaper teams, to lead photographer in my senior year, high school was where I developed my foundation and studied the core fundamentals of photography. Upon graduation, I began my 20-year career in advertising where I was able to hone my eye for composition and practice the styles and methods used in commercial advertising. After a good run in the agency life, I decided to pursue my passion and open my own studio. In the beginning I focused on families and portraiture, it wouldn't be til later that I discovered my love for commercial food and beverage photography.
In 2015, everything changed – must have been the luck of the Irish! I found myself the winner of a recipe contest that rewarded me with a five day foodie trip to Ireland. As a photographer I of course brought my camera! The Emerald Isle toured me across landscapes of savory and sweet, and not to mention ales and spirits. I had fallen in love with food – more than before. the passion of the chefs and producers we visited with, the raw beauty in the details. The desire to share what I see in a dish through my images. As soon as my plane landed back home, I changed direction from portraiture to food and beverage. Somehow I hadn't realized the size and scope of the commercial food and beverage industry and the need for great photography. I've since turned my passion into my career and will do this work til the end.
It has been an amazing journey of growth, love and passion, and food! Every shoot is a chance to push my skill and work with other passionate artists and producers. There is nothing quite like walking into a shoot, throwing on some music, setting up the lights and preparing to tell another craveable story of food for my clients.
Even though my 27 years of experience have taught me those core fundamentals of photography, I am forever a student, ever evolving my craft to find the uniqueness in every piece of food. Let’s have some fun, eat, drink and create work that will make everyone CRAVE!
