There is a place where a simple cup of coffee becomes magic in our hands, and with a sip we are brought back to the place we once were...where we wish we could be again. A quiet place where gathering together helps us slow down and simplify. Where attentiveness and candor whisper in our ears their secrets to life. Here, there is no room for the noise and pressures of the life moving at breakneck speed around us. It has been silenced, it’s insignificance so blindingly obvious, we break the chains of the distanced and surface experience it demands from our minds.

A place where gathering together, even not in person, is an essential part of our very existence as we recognize that our affinity for true and basic kinship is what community should be made of; HAS to be made of. A place where we can learn, and be known, and become.

A simple, mindful cup of coffee with new friends, and old, holds a unique power that reminds us that the simpler things in life are actually what make life worth living. This is what it means to fika.
