Friday Morning Folk is a weekly room on Clubhouse for musicians of the folk, bluegrass, singer-songwriter, and Americana persuasions to meet, share and discuss the pursuit of the contemporary acoustic artist, with an emphasis on empowering creatives to move forward in their own musical journeys.

Taking a 360º look at the world of the performing indie, discussions encompass the creative — including songcraft, inspiration, discipline, routines or lack thereof, musical philosophy, instruments and musicianship — as well as the more pragmatic side of maintaining a sustained career across time. That might mean the technical side of making a well-produced livestream, strategies for improved positioning on DSPs, booking clubs or house concerts, the festival scene, song contests, maintaining a grip on reality — really anything that has to do with the folk artist’s unique set of challenges and opportunities as we work to build a successful career in the wild climate that is the modern music business.

While a community spirit is integral to the vision and ongoing success of our Club, we are moving toward hosting a featured weekly guest from the national and international folk and Americana music scene. We feel this will both provide a unique focus for each session as well as providing a dynamic means of introducing our audience to the inspiring people — be they artists, journalists, festival directors, radio hosts, bloggers, club owners, food truck operators, and music supervisors — who make our community as vibrant as it is.
