We have a math crisis— we need your solution!
➖In the US, 1 in 3 adults can’t handle basic number skills, such as what you need for using a cash register (COABE 2017).
➖1 in 4 US teachers fear doing any math (Edweek).
➖1 in 5 adults report severe math anxiety in the US (Edweek 2020).
Enter: Math Matters club, a community of educators, researchers, entrepreneurs, students, parents, leaders of all industries, coming together to talk about math, to make math relevant and cool and creative again! Thought leaders passionate about how math literacy will change the world we live in. We know math matters and we’re here to make math matter again where it doesn’t. We’re here to make it accessible, equitable, and inclusive of all people, no matter what your upbringing or background.
Make Math Make Sense! Make math not suck! Make math accessible for all. We want to see critical thinking, modeling, conceptual ideas, innovation and creativity flow again in our world. We want to see an era of collaboration: between educators and edupreneurs, ethnographers and elementary school teachers, administrators and theorists and students and parents.
The Maths world is ready to matter again. Join the revolution and the future of mathematics. Math learning should be immersive, leading the way in AR, VR, and new technology. We need math and math needs us!
