Somali Community is a place where all Somalis come together and work toward similar goals for the good of all is one way to deliver peace and stability. The first step in creating a safe space for dialogue is to create a set of guidelines that set the scene for standards of expected group behaviour.  These guidelines are:
1. State views and ask genuine questions.
2. Share all relevant information.
3. Use specific examples and agree on what important words mean.
4. Explain your reasoning.
5. Focus on interests, not positions.
6. Test assumptions and inferences.
7. Jointly design the next steps.
8. Discuss undiscussable issues.
Be Respectful: Listen to others.
Affirm people's opinions.
Empathize with different perspectives.
Disagree respectfully.
Apologize when you're in the wrong.
Call out disrespectful behavior.
Show gratitude.
