The Aristotelian-Thomist on Clubhouse

This is a club for scholars, students, and laypersons to stimulate thought and discussion on all aspects of Aristotelian and Thomistic philosophy. Our mission is threefold: first, to immerse ourselves in the tradition of Aristotle and Aquinas, second to put this tradition in conversation with modern and contemporary schools and modes of thought, and third to engage in the Peripatetic and Scholastic heritage of disciplined logic and argument, for “the purpose of the study of philosophy is not to learn what others have thought, but to learn how the truth of things stands” (Commentary on Aristotle, De Caelo, I, 22).

Topics range from, but are not limited to, metaphysics, philosophy of science, natural theology, philosophy of nature, epistemology, philosophical psychology, theory of universals, theory of concepts, logic, philosophy of mind, philosophical anthropology, meta-ethics, normative ethics, virtue theory, political philosophy, economic theory, rhetoric, history of philosophy, ancient philosophy, Greek and Roman thought, medieval philosophy, Scholasticism, natural law, and more.

This club is not affiliated with any person, organization, or institution, and is open to approaching Aristotelian-Thomistic philosophy from a wide variety, including critical, perspectives.
