PANAFEST on Clubhouse
Description
The club for those interested in and coming to PANAFEST, the Pan-African Arts Festival in Ghana 🇬🇭, July 24-August 1, 2023. The Festival was begun by Dr. Efua Sutherland, who worked with Kwame Nkrumah as she created Theatre 🎭 in Ghana. It expanded to PANAFEST in Cape Coast in 1991 and has continued as a full arts festival with a Grand Durbar (procession of Chiefs and Queen Mothers), drumming, dance, an academic conference, great food, exhibits and culminates in Emancipation Day Festival at Cape Coast Castle, where we redefine our history. In 2019, there were over 1,000 attendees at this event, alone. Approximately 5,000 persons attend overall, throughout Accra, Kumasi and Cape Coast, and we are looking to grow. This club is the official representation of the PANAFEST Foundation, lead by Dr. Esi Sutherland and Rabbi Kohain, with the Board, with Artistic Consultant and Fundraiser, Dr. Goddess (Kimberly C.
