Queer folks deserve normalization for so many years of the straight cis male gaze bearing down on us. Let's talk about it. 🤯

We're gay (or allies) and we love movies! We just wish coming out films didn't make us want to shrivel up and die inside. 😊

This is a place for filmmakers and film lovers to discuss and plan for how they intend to encourage queer voices. The experiences of LGBTQ+ people are wide and varied, and they have no limits. By banding together, we can find new pathways for each other's goals and still build each other up. 🏳️‍🌈

If you're a non-LGBTQ+ person looking for basic education on queer issues, this is not the place for you. You're welcome to listen, but don't expect anyone here to explain themselves or their identities to you. You enter our rooms with the acknowledgement that we're people just like anyone else. 🌈
1. Respect pronouns.: Introduce yourself with your name and preferred pronouns. Part of this is for normalization purposes, but also, it's just basic respect.
2. Obviously, be kind.: Any disrespect, harassment, invalidation, or any other fuckery won't be tolerated. (Yes, you can curse.)
3. Balance speaking and listening.: Don't be afraid to chime in, but know when it's your turn to simply hear someone else out. It's all about introducing the queer voice back to media authentically. So listen up!
