We believe each and every schools in America needs to have Active Shooter Awareness instructions. We need to be on constant alertness, preparedness and vigilant to defend ourselves from these constant attacks. There are people who are meticulously, methodically and strategically devising their next attack. Will you be ready and prepared to defend yourself?

Would you support this practice in your kids' school(s)?

If an attack was to happen in your child school, what would you do? How would you react? Are you prepared to react? It’s a split decision that could save your life in a shooting attack. Do you run away, hide, play dead or fight? What could you do in the event of a active shooting attack that could save your life?

Nationwide, statistics indicate that it takes an average of 14 -17 minutes before law enforcement responds to the call for assistance, with the average incident ending in under seven (7) minutes. With those response times in mind, the focus must shift to understanding who the “true” first responders are, because they are clearly the people within the event as it is unfolding.

In recent years, we’ve all noticed an increase in violence against our children in schools. What was once an isolated incident is now becoming an epidemic. What was once a safe place to be, is now becoming a targeted danger zone. Safety is a huge concern in schools and one must question what preventative measures have been taken? How does a school respond to threats? Are schools still considered a safe place? Is simply announcing emergency codes and lockdowns enough to keep EVERYONE safe?

We as parents have taken the time to place our children in the best possible environment knowing that when we leave them, they are in a safe environment. As seen through current events, this is not so; it's a myth. People that we least expect are ultimately causing havoc and altering the lives of many through their planned, calculated irrational behavior. They are targeting our children and successfully destroying what we love the most. But just as calculating as they can be, so can we.

It’s no secret that danger lurks in all communities, but the probability of having volatile situations is usually higher in urban school districts. Teachers, staff and students in urban school districts are continuously exposed to violent situations in school and in the community.
NO HATE SPEECH OR BULLYING : Make sure everyone feels safe. Bullying of any kind isn't allowed, and degrading comments about things like race, religion, culture, sexual orientation, gender or identity will not be tolerated.
