Mission
Our mission is to provide inspiration, nurture, guidance, and support to anyone affected with a
mental health condition and/or experiencing a mental health crisis in our communities.
“When we minister to others, we are ministering to ourselves”
Founded in April 2017, Project W.I.N.G.S mental-spiritual health and wellness ministry was
built upon the per-existing mental health ministry at Scott United Methodist Church to address the
needs of those struggling with mental health conditions and/or mental health crisis within the
congregation. Originally our mission was to provide support group services to survivors of suicide
attempts and loss while promoting awareness and prevention resources to those struggling with mental
health crisis. However since it’s conception and with all of God’s grace, the vision of Project W.I.N.G.S
has evolved to become an umbrella hub of healing ministries; serving and educating our community
about various aspects of mental and spiritual health and wellness.
Project W.I.N.G.S. is dedicated to saving and supporting lives by providing the following services: mental health education and awareness, mental wellness support and resources, crisis intervention, and various life and coping skills workshops.
Workshops include art and music therapy, meditation, yoga, creative writing journal and support groups
with relevant rotating mental and spiritual health topics. We provide support and address suicide
attempt and suicide loss survivors, grief/bereavement, depression, caregivers, anti-bullying and suicide
prevention for youth to elders. We promote community resources, events and partnerships with diverse
motivational speakers, facilitators and mental health professionals to combat the stigma of mental health in our homes and communities.
In March 2021, we re-launched our program to further serve the people and spread God’s love
and promote healing by adding a single parents ministry, marriage and couples, senior and homeless
outreach ministries, while continuing to build on the established youth “WINGERS”.
