The purpose of this club is to share information that pertains to African history and the history of religion. It is clear that we have not been taught the truth about our past or the history of “God”. This club intends to help bridge the gap between the academic world and the average person who does not keep up with the findings of archaeology that further inform our understanding of history at large and the history of religion. Many things that are common knowledge in academic circles do not filter out to the public domain automatically. It is imperative that we keep up to date with expert findings because they sometimes confirm or deny previously established ideas about the past.
This is a space for us all to learn and to grow in our understanding so that we can make informed decisions about our beliefs and world-views. All ideologies are welcome. Some rooms will be more social and conversational, others will take on a more structured scholarly tone if a specific topic is being addressed. The club will always strive for organised and respectful rooms and we want everyone to learn from each other because nobody has all the answers. We encourage you to maintain an open mind because evidence speaks for itself and the truth will eventually prevail irrespective of our feelings or attachments to particular beliefs.

god (n.)
also God; Old English god "supreme being, deity; the Christian God; image of a god; godlike person," from Proto-Germanic *guthan (source also of Old Saxon, Old Frisian, Dutch god, Old High German got, German Gott, Old Norse guð, Gothic guþ)
The earliest written form of the Germanic word "god" comes from the 6th century Christian Codex Argenteus, which descends from the Old English guþ from the Proto-Germanic Guđan. While hotly disputed, most agree on the reconstructed Proto-Indo-European form ǵhu-tó-m, based on the root ǵhau-, ǵhau̯ǝ-, which meant "to call" or "to invoke".

1. Respect: Naturally discussions on religion and belief systems can stir up passion and other emotions. That is to be expected. What you can’t do is disrespect others personally. Disrespect can get you off stage
2. References: To support your point of view it would be extremely helpful if you could provide specific sources for others to verify themselves. Especially when you’re asserting something to be historically factual
3. Order: We will endeavour to keep a flowing and fair order when such is necessary. In the more informal rooms we have, we will expect you to show courtesy as we do our best to ensure everyone is heard
