The Data For Good Initiative is an independent, non-partisan project sponsored by LiveRamp.org and Public Democracy.
Our mission is to serve as an organizing space to reduce bias in data and ensure that more complete data is available and used for the public good at scale across all parts of society.
In this clubhouse, we aim to confront the reality that the data relied upon by business leaders, government officials, philanthropists, and many others in decision-making roles all have significant biases that disproportionately limit understanding of communities of color and other marginalized groups.
COVID-19 is shining a national highlight on the cost of poor data and underrepresentation. More generally, minority groups are chronically underrepresented in clinical research, contributing to systemic injustice and social determinants of health. As long as these gaps persist, longstanding obstacles to developing a Culture of Health will remain entrenched.
