Coffee shops can be such magical places. First, there’s the actual beverage most of us consume probably more than we should because why not? Then, there’s the collage of voices that create conversations that flow around the room. With energy and ideas floating around, coffee shops are my favorite place to go when I’m having writer’s block. As someone who is quite new to creative writing, I’m spreading my wings, and I would be honored for others to join me in this journey. Welcome to the Writers’ coffee shop, a community of supportive, social, caring writers who come together to write, listen to each other’s work, and discuss various genres and ideas for books. Whether we’re doing freewrite exercises or hosting discussions, you’re more than welcome to join our rooms. We look forward to hearing from you! :)
Respect others as they share their work. : Feedback is highly encouraged, but only if its constructive. Show kindness to those along the journey with you. Also, your work is just as valuable, so don’t judge yourself harshly.
Please remain muted until you’re ready to speak. : All will be welcome on stage to share their work, but it is important to minimize the noise in the room to give everyone a quiet environment. Furthermore, presentation days may be recorded.
Participation is necessary. Please stay on topic.: You are free not to share your work if you don’t feel comfortable, but you must at least acknowledge your participation in the writing exercises. Also, general discussion is welcome after the event.
