Women and young girls in developing countries, especially those from impoverished backgrounds, face many challenges, such as becoming victims of sex-trafficking, cultural preference for sons, child marriage, and gender-based violence and harassment, which limit their access, opportunities, and leadership skills.

While some progress is being made in various parts of the world, there is still a great deal left to be done to right the problems of gender inequality.

Compassionate people all around the world are working hard to address many different challenges women and girls face in their everyday lives. In the past eight years I have collaborated with several organizations globally that are just as passionate about women's empowerment, but after finishing my PhD research on empowering women, it was my time to start a nonprofit based on my dissertation research. That’s how Climb Your Everest (CYE) was born.

CYE’s goal is to provide educational programs that empower marginalized women across the globe, through collaborative learning of leadership skills. To learn about our future plans please visit our website .

To bring funds and awareness to CYE, I am climbing Mount Everest, after my attempt in 2015 that was interrupted by a 7.8 magnitude earthquake . If I succeed this time, I will gain the honor of being the 1st Iranian woman to have summited the 7 highest mountains of each of the 7 continents in the world, AKA the Seven Summits. My goal is to raise $1 per foot of Everest's elevation, or $29,032.
