Art brut is not a niche in the Art world anymore!

Art Brut has evolved from a movement "on the fringes of society" to a popular movement. The work of these self-taught artists is the result of their past experiences and is not held back by society. The works are created according to the impulses of the artists illustrating their fragile mental state and their original perspectives of the world. They do not conform to any particular style or previous movement. The result is raw and overwhelming works specific to each artist.

Art brut is often mixed up with outsider art, vernacular art, singular art or self taught art. Let’s dig together into the definition created by the French artist Jean Dubuffet!

L'art brut n'est plus une niche du monde de l’art !

L’art brut est passé d’un courant « en marge de la société » à un mouvement populaire. Le travail de ces artistes autodidactes est le résultat de leurs expériences passées et n’est pas bridées par la société. Les œuvres sont créées selon les impulsions des artistes illustrant leur état mental fragile et leurs perspectives originales du monde. Elles ne se conforment à aucun style particulier ou mouvement précédent. Il en résulte des œuvres brutes et bouleversantes propres à chaque artiste. 

L'art brut est souvent confondu avec l'art hors influence, l'art vernaculaire, l'art singulier ou l'art autodidacte. Penchons-nous ensemble sur la définition créée par l’artiste français Jean Dubuffet!
