Namibian Society of Engineers (NASE) is a registered Section 21 non-profit association that brings together students and professionals of the engineering fraternity.
The society aims to support and promote the engineering profession in Namibia and beyond. Its membership and following comprises of more than 2,000 engineers, students, institutions, firms and non-profit organizations.
The organization operates two (2) non-profit action-oriented wings:
- the Reinventing Our Future Foundation and
- Engineers Without Borders Namibia (EWB-NA).
The Reinventing Our Future Foundation is a registered entity that focuses on promoting APPLIED engineering knowledge & skills through innovative projects, while EWB-NA is a social-responsibility initiative that uses engineering skills to give back to communities. EWB-NA regularly partners with Engineers Without Borders South Africa (EWBSA) in community outreach programs.
The Namibian Society of Engineers is governed by a Constitution, which outlines the composition of the organization’s structure. The Society is led by a president, supported by a vice president, secretary general, treasurer and portfolio secretaries. Together, this team constitutes the Executive Board (EB) of NASE. The EB is the highest decision-making body between two conventions. The convention is the supreme organ of the Society and is held every 3 years.
