Description

The Sibling Club is here to support people who grow up with a disabled brother or sister. There are over half a million young carers and over 1.7 million adult siblings in the UK, who have grown up with a disabled brother or sister.

As siblings we face a great deal of challenges everyday. It’s perfectly okay to feel mixed emotions, social and emotional isolation, resentment or depressed. But it’s equally as important to not wallow in those overwhelming emotions because you’ll let all the good moments of being a sibling to a disabled brother or sister miss you.

In the UK, 1 in 5 secondary school children are young carers taking on large responsibilities at home caring for a sibling with additional needs. Mental health needs of young carers are often neglected, despite many carers struggling mentally. So, here on The Sibling Club we will be discussing all things being a sibling to a disabled brother or sister, how to cope mentally, unseen sacrifices and many more.

This is your safe space to share your sibling experience.
