Save The Tigrayans (STT) is a non-profit movement which has been active since Dec 2020 to save as many lives of Tigrayan refugees as possible. The tragic sufferings of ethnic Tigrayan refugees at a public hospital in Sudan, in the lack of proper and timely medical intervention and consequently death of refugees who could have been saved if they had received medical treatment led to the birth of this movement. Currently, Save The Tigrayans administers a centre in Gedarif where sick Tigrayan refugees are admitted to and taken care of (food, hygiene, bed, mattress) for as long as they complete their medical treatments. Moreover, members of Save The Tigrayans who live in Gedarif give Tigrinya-Arabic language translation services to every sick refugee who is referred from all refugee camps to Gedarif. In some cases when the medical cases of patients become above the scope of the local public hospital, we take the responsibility to take the patients all the way to Khartoum where we have another centre where patients are sheltered at (food included). Then, we cover all of their medical expenses whichever clinic or hospital they are taken to. More importantly, we give special focus to weaponised rape victims. We cover all of their medical expenses at private clinics in Gedarif, of course handling their cases with the utmost confidentiality possible. The sources of our fund are good samaritan individuals. The main goal of this movement is to save as many Tigrayan lives as possible. Together we can save many precious souls. Our activities are not limited in Sudan but also in Tigray, Addis Ababa and wherever Tigrayans are suffering from lack of medical treatment. Every donation of a peny can make a difference. Let's come together and save lives.
