Sankofa, a word in the Twi language of Ghana (pronounced SAHN-koh-fah), is loosely translated to mean, “go back to the past and bring forward that which is useful." Connecting the past with the present allows us to be more effective agents in our collective future.
We all share the responsibility for defining the terms by which we live; and at the same time, we plant the seed for the generations that come after us. We honor those who have shown us the way and taught us the strategies for survival, endurance, and growth.
