FALAR INGLÊS É PRA QUEM?

It's no secret English was made a money-making industry in Brazil where higher and middle classes benefit the most from the so-called "top- level schools" in the country.

REALIDADE BRASILEIRA

I certainly agree with you that learning is not something you can finish, however, very few Brazilian learners are given opportunities to level up their skills. They are told travelling to an English speaking country and Disney trips account for their top-notch learning experiences; on top of that, language schools feed similar takes. Surely there must be some kind of advantage that help learners see the world differently after going back homesick or having lived miles away from their home country.

How about low-income learners ? Does it mean they can't fully learn English without traveling abroad? Do they have a say in shaping their own learning journey ?

MEDO DE FALAR, UM PROBLEMA COMUM

It's safe to say brazilians are proudly dominant Portuguese speakers! Interestingly enough, they may have a bad attitude toward their own accent, meaning they don't like speaking English with a Brazilian accent at all. That might come from holding to false views of "strong accents'; Being too self-conscious, they generally refrain from speaking English to spare embarassment.
