Description

UNDER RECONSTRUCTION

Regenerative Governance is framework for decision-making, resource management and socio-political-economic organization aligned with the principles and characteristics of regenerative systems found where habitats co-created by humans and the non-human ecosystems exist intact.

Regenerative Systems and/or Regenerative Societies have the following characteristics/First Principles:

* Egalitarian decision-making
* First Principles-based decision-making
* Commons-based "economics,"
* Networks of small communities and...
* Bio-regionally defined
* Highly cooperative, yet have...
* Absolute individual autonomy
* Needs-based decision-making
* Living within ecosystem limits
* Lots of free time
* "Work" has characteristics of play, a social event
* No "jobs"; work is done as needed and as chosen
* Mal-behavior is addressed playfully and gently if at all possible
* Non-hierarchical
* Gender equality

A survivable future, one that goes beyond mere stasis and into a continually healthier planet and society, requires regaining our co-creative relationship with the rest of nature. We face a multi-pronged crisis that none of the tech-based approaches can solve with the constraints as we know them and the risks as analyzed. The risks:

* Rapid Climate Change
We are now seeing triplings of various indices over very short time frames. Mathematically, this means 2100 is a fantasy as a target date for achieving sustainability because the ecosystem is crashing as we speak.

* Ecosystem Destruction
Indicators all over the planet are moving along curves that are beyond exponential. Ecosystems are fracturing as various biota scramble for a niche to survive in. Hunger will be biting over the next 2 to 5 years and just get worse from there.

* Pollution
Air rain and our water virtually everywhere are poisoned. Plastic is choking life all over the planet. And so much more.

* Resource Depletion

All of these have the same ultimate causes: Unsustainable consumption and
Overconsumption.
