Civil discourse is engagement in discourse (conversation) intended to enhance understanding. The mission of The Gordian Knot is to bolster civil discourse even when the topic of discussion may be deemed controversial.
This is a safe place for communication: You will be given ample time to express your thoughts or opinions. You are entitled to both! That being said attempting to troll, or engaging in hate speech, will result in swift removal.
Stay on topic!: Please stay on topic. This is particularly focused on both the topic of the room or any applicable divergence from the main topic that provides edification to the conversation.
Maintain speaking decorum at all times: Avoid ad hominem attacks. If you do so, you will be removed from the stage. Remain muted while a speaker has the mic. You will be given a chance to respond if your thoughts are specifically addressed.
