“100 LIVES PROJECT”
{Legacies of Ordinary Extraordinary Lives that Aren’t on Google}

The earthly, spiritual & scientific impact and beauty of an individual’s legacy continues to weave in the heart, soul and psychology of the living after those they love have passed. This truth has always played an important role in my life.

I lost my Mom much too early. Even though it rocked my world, I didn’t really process her death fully until my son was born 13 years later. The fact that she never met him inspired me to start to paint what eventually came to be vivid & clear expressions of who my Mother was, her essence and her legacy. The art embodies profound emotions and memories that have lived in my unconscious and my dreams.

As I began to share my art and the stories around why I was creating these pieces , I started to hear from many people their stories of the ordinary/extraordinary people that so deeply touched them. I realized that there is a universal emotional connection that comes with loss, joy, love & telling stories. I also realized that my story is a mosaic piece of something much bigger and that it was my mission to preserve the legacies of so many more people that might otherwise be forgotten over time.

Don’t we all want to shout to the stars about those we loved and have shaped & inspired us so deeply? My mother was extraordinary...she was extraordinary just like those who you loved and those who impacted you were extraordinary. If you Googled my amazing, spectacular mother, all you will find is a picture of her gravestone. The fact that Google didn’t exist until 1998 has had a large impact on the footprints and legacies of those who have  lived and died prior. Who will know that my mother was a humanitarian, an activist, that she was honored for her tireless efforts for countless causes, that she worked for Apollo records and Frank Loesser (you can Google him,)  that she was an amazing dancer and, as a child, she auditioned for the role of Darla in the original “Little Rascals”! (you can Google that too.) Hers is one of many ordinary/extraordinary lives and the
  “100 LIVES PROJECT” is my passion to create a footprint and legacy for all of the people that have lived and deserve to be honored. It is for all of us that have untold, wonderful, memorable stories that shall live on.

The 100 LIVES PROJECT is just beginning. Let the memories of the ones we loved be preserved for generations to come.
