Talk Gingerly is a collective of 1st Gen Caribbean (Black) women + femmes who feel a deep spiritual/ancestral pull AND are lost in the sauce. Being of Jamaican heritage, there is SO MUCH spiritual information that is still hidden due to religious oppression + internalized anti-Blackness + a lot of other stuff. Vodou, hoodoo, Ifa and other ATR’s are beautiful, they are amazing. I (jchavae) have 100% respect them and yet none of the aforementioned feels resonant to my spirit. I know what I am being called to and don’t know at the same time. It feels blurry, if that makes sense. Something is there, but there has not been anything or anyone (in the form of an earthly mentor) that has made itself known to me. That is the purpose of this collective, to put our hearts, minds, spirits and ancestors together to piece together what has been lost.
