Katha Kathan on CH is an Audio Theatre, on a mission to promote the love for Indian languages. We, through the rich tapestry of native language literature, are attempting to unfurl the diversity, beauty and depth of the languages of the South Asian sub-continent. Depending on what format interests you, you can interact or participate with us via our various signature initiatives:
Katha Kathan Baithak, a calendarized once-a-month event that brings together people who read stories on a given topic in different languages of India
Katha Kathan Mehfil, a platform that celebrates poetry in different languages of India
Katha Kathan Mehfil- Ghazal, a programme dedicated to unravelling the layers of a ghazal and its meaning
Katha Kathan Samvaad, where we interview writers of the sub-continent, who write in Indian languages
Katha Kathan is the brainchild of Jameel Gulrays, an advertising veteran and Urdu connoisseur. The journey began with Jameel’s quest to make his vast library of Urdu poetry and prose available to those who appreciate Urdu literature. As he started off with this rather simple mission, it transcended into a larger cause of preservation of the vast repertoire of Indian language literature.
