NB! This group is pro women, pro black ✊🏿, pro LGBTQIA+ 🏳️‍🌈, pro foreign nationals 🇿🇼🇳🇬🇲🇿, pro disabled🦻🏿👩🏾‍🦼🧑🏻‍🦯 , pro sex workers, pro poor, etc and we have zero tolerance for hatred and bigotry!

We will discuss current events and challenges, both big and small.

The hope of this group is to create a community of likeminded people from different walks of life, who all want to see South Africa reach its full potential.

Our Mission Statement:

Siyakhuluma_Mzansi is an organisation which aims to confront real world challenges, brainstorm solutions, and bring about transformation and decolonization to South Africa. We aim to do this through the use of two fundamental principles: unlearning and learning.

South African society was built and rooted on the bedrock of violence, white supremacy, misogyny and oppression. Although we now live in a democratic nation, we haven’t gone through the correct processes in order to heal and undo centuries worth of damage.

In order for us to be able to move forward and carve a better path for the generations to come, we all have the duty to strip ourselves of the falsehoods and misconceptions we have long held. We have to then listen to and amplify the voices of those who belong to groups that have been historically (and currently) disadvantaged.

Secondly, we need to realise that although we have the duty to exercise our right to vote, that’s not the only thing we can do to change the trajectory of our country. We can do a lot of work in between the general elections.

This group supports NPOs, NGOs and other community initiatives. You don’t have to wait until you are in an even more privileged position in order to be able to positively contribute to someone else’s lives.

This group believes in allies but does not believe that it is the duty of the oppressed to educate the oppressor.
