Sikhs(SEVA) on Clubhouse

Description

We’re Sikhs i.e. those who take inspiration from Guru Nanak’s teachings. This we believe is necessary and sufficient to be a Sikh.

We are working for Enlightenment Values in Punjab and in Sikh (as defined above) communities spread across the world.

Belief in Enlightenment Values, demands a commitment to:
1) Freedom of Speech: Which is only meaningful if others have the freedom to speak what you deem is offensive.
2) Freedom of Religion: Which is only meaningful if those you deem heretical have the freedom to propagate their version of religion too.
3) Disavowal of Violence: Violence is immoral in pursuit of social, political or religious goals in society – full stop. One can try to convince others by the merit of his arguments and the weight of collated evidence, but others have a right to make their own minds following their own curiosity and conscience. Violence if ever, can only be used as a last resort, and that too defensively, to protect this right of conscience of the individual.
4) Logos: Belief in truth as the highest virtue in the hierarchy of values, and as the best antidote to chaos.
5) Accepting the flawed nature of man: The above beliefs are sacrosanct and need to not only be preserved but incentivized – but given the space, justice should also allow for mercy. Ideas of Forgiveness and Redemption are necessary for any organization, at whatever resolution, to be sustainable and worthy at the same time.
