Description

The Neurodivergent Infinity Network_EDU is a network of Autistic & otherwise Neurodivergent Educators & Allies committed to shifting the paradigm towards Neurodiversity in Education and Beyond. 1) We seek to amplify authentic Autistic & otherwise Neurodivergent voices, particularly those who have historically been most marginalized (including but not limited to: non-speakers, Black, Indigenous & People of Colour, 2SLGBTQ+, and those who identify as multiply ND or otherwise disabled). 2) We promote Acceptance & Pride in Neurological Differences because Awareness is not enough. 3) We promote the normalization of Stimming as a natural sensory response. 4) We acknowledge that masking is a Trauma response due to social stigma & discrimination many of have faced and continue to face, but also recognize that we all are on our own journey to understand our own layers of masking. 4) We advocate for Validation and Equitable Access to Alternate modes of Communication for Non-Speakers and Speakers (including, but not limited to AAC, sign language, text and other forms of augmentative communication). 5) We believe that by keeping Human Right and Equity at the forefront of all we do, forging new pathways with the above in mind, and finding common ground with a variety of stakeholders, together we can change the world!
