Description
This network is designed to develop dialogue around the organic ability & opportunity for black churches to intentionally economically empower their congregations, connected businesses, & community collaborations for commerce. Since 1860 when one half of one percent of the black community owned and controlled wealth in America up until recently (2015) with more than 85,000 black churches in America, the black community has not progressed beyond owning or controlling one half of one percent of the wealth in the US. This indicates the institution needs to do more. Especially since it’s so central & influential to black life overall.
