Rourkela is located in Sundergarh district of Odisha, India. It is surrounded by a range of hills and encircled by rivers - Koel, Sankha, and Brahmani.
Rourkela is one of the beautiful and the second largest city of Odisha in India which was brought into light only in 1955 after the onset of the Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) owned by the Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL).
The city is also popularly known as Ispat Nagar and also as the Steel City of Odisha. It has been selected as a smart city in the third phase of the smart city list on 20 September 2016.
This place is very famous for the ‘Rourkela Gupchup’ which bonds all.
