We are a club dedicated to debates. Specifically in politics and philosophy. We love a good debate/discussion. Our favorite topics are philosophy or religion, philosophy of mind and metaethics. Notable members include Mr.House, Jack Angstreich, Marz Barz, and Darth Arianus.
Be Charitable: Grant your opponents premises that are not pertinent to your refutation. Always attack the weakest links in the argument.
Formalize Your Argument: While we won't be sticklers about formalisms, we highly prefer arguments stated in syllogistic form. It makes it easier to address the argument when the premises are made explicit and are put into a valid inference.
Don't Dodge Questions: If someone asks you a yes or no question, don't dodge it by going on tangents. Just reply (YES), (NO), or (NOT SURE). If you need to elaborate, just reply not sure and then state your view.
