An increasing number of startups and new businesses have been founded in India over the last decade, the majority of them by men. While many Indian women have entrepreneurial ambitions, it is often more difficult for them to succeed.
There are various reasons for this low female entrepreneurship rates, primary of which are unconscious biases, low confidence in business/networking skills, difficult access to funding, lack of family support and child-care options, as well as insufficient safety in work and public spaces.
Through this club, we aim to have some meaningfully conversations with aspiring women entrepreneurs and female founders on how we can help each other to push women’s entrepreneurial empowerment in India.
