The vision behind The Kiva can be summarized in three words: Beats, Rhymes, & Life. ‘The Kiva' was chosen to be the name of this club because of the Indigenous ties that it has here inthe southwest US 🏜

Beats🪘: In The Kiva, the beats are the rhythms created by the drums & hearts. The drum is the catalyst which the dancers move. This connects us to music as humans. When we dance, we push our limits while the music takes control. Our adrenaline pumps. It takes us to a deeper place. We feel it.

Rhymes🗣: Prayer is spoken. Greetings are exchanged. Our words as Indigenous people don't translate directly word for word. They are feelings. In The Kiva, we are reminded that our words are power. Be kind to our fellow people. Be mindful of our fellow people. Speak & share with intention. Come from the heart.

Life❤️: We all have something to learn from one another. We all have skills as individuals. Working together is what builds community. We are only as strong as our weakest link so we must lift each other up. Every one is at different point in life but when we come together in The Kiva, those points become connected. We enter another world. We become rooted. We become family. We become one. Irske'hanu.
