The Chinese capital on the verge of quarantine; Dozens of metro stations were closed
Newly developed coronavirus on the way as twice as dangerous as before corona virus
In Beijing, a city of 21 million people, 51 new cases of coronavirus were reported overnight, five of which were asymptomatic.
However, the authorities have taken precautionary measures. According to the Guardian, a hospital with 1,200 beds and experimental facilities is considered a mass quarantine center in the city. The hospital first opened during the SARS outbreak in 2003 and was used in the early 2020s to treat coronary heart disease.
The Beijing Health Authority recently announced that it will reopen the hospital as a precautionary measure. The agency likened the Omicron-style fight to a "game of chess."
There is already a quarantine center in the city. In this center, 40 healthcare professionals try to treat 12 patients with mild symptoms.
Dozens of subway stations in Beijing have been closed under traffic restrictions.
